Begin your day with a scenic Bilbao, the vibrant cultural capital of the Basque Country, Enjoy a private visit of the iconic Guggenheim Museum, an architectural masterpiece that houses an exceptional collection of contemporary art, followed by a hands-on show-cooking experience, where you’ll master the secrets of Basque cuisine alongside expert chefs. After lunch, we will transfer to Pamplona. Tucked in the foothills of the Pyrenees with thousands of years of history underfoot, Pamplona is the center of our Camino universe. We settle into the luxurious city center hotel and spend the evening briefing the coming 14 days. Later we explore the gorgeous Old Town while enjoying pintxos (Basque tapas) on a lively pintxo bar hop. This is a walk-free day.

On our first day, we journey to Roncesvalles, where the adventure begins in the breathtaking high Pyrenees. Marvel at the silvery peaks stretching into the sky before visiting the historic crypt where the King and Queen of Navarra rest. This marks the start of our own epic pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago. Descending through picturesque Pyrenean villages— including Burguete, where Hemingway once lingered—we traverse the Erro Mountain Pass and follow the widening Arga River. Arriving in Pamplona, we pass through the medieval Portal de Francia into the heart of the historic citadel. The afternoon is yours to explore the charming cobblestone streets of the Old Town before indulging in an exclusive hands-on cooking class at our private gastronomy club.

As we walk the Camino today, the landscape transforms from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the sun-drenched forests and rolling hills of southern Navarra. Departing Pamplona, we journey south and west, ascending the stunning El Paso del Perdón (The Pass of Forgiveness), where sweeping vistas reward our efforts. Continuing to Puente La Reina, we arrive at one of the region’s most exclusive Navarran wineries, our final destination for the day. Enjoy a private winery tour and tasting, savoring exquisite wines amidst breathtaking vineyard views. As the day winds down, indulge in a refined dinner overlooking the picturesque hacienda before retreating to the elegant Casona Hotel, set within the private grounds of the estate, for an unforgettable overnight stay.

Continuing our luxury Camino journey, we traverse one of the most picturesque sections of the trail, from Villatuerta to Logroño. Strolling through rolling vineyards and golden wheat fields, we pass ancient Roman roads and charming medieval villages steeped in history. Along the way, we visit the famed Irache Wine Fountain, where pilgrims have been welcomed with a sip of local red wine for centuries. A highlight of the day is an exclusive visit to the prestigious Navarre winery, Castillo de Monjarín, where we indulge in a curated tasting menu paired with their finest vintages. This iconic stage of the Camino de Santiago takes us through the best portions of the stage across the vast, open landscapes of the Castilian Plateau, where endless skies and distant horizons create a mesmerizing backdrop for our journey. Passing through charming villages with centuries-old churches, we eventually reach the impressive Fitero Bridge, spanning the Pisuerga River. As we continue through the plains of Sahagún, we encounter one of the Camino’s legendary landmarks—the Hospital de Órbigo, where a Leonese knight famously challenged passing pilgrims to a jousting contest in 1434. We enter the historic city of León. Here, the awe-inspiring Santa María de León Cathedral, known as Pulchra Leonina or the House of Light, awaits with its breathtaking stained glass. The highlight of our walk along the best portions of the Saint James Way is reaching the summit of Foncebadón, where we pause to pay homage to the stately Cruz de Ferro (Iron Cross). This iconic waypoint exudes a contemplative magic, as pilgrims leave behind a symbolic object, shedding burdens before continuing their journey to Santiago de Compostela. Our walk continues through breathtaking landscapes, leading us to the charming town of Villafranca. Here, we take a well-deserved break to lounge by the river, where drinks are on us! Today marks the Queen Stage of our journey—the pinnacle of the entire Camino. We ascend to O Cebreiro, the highest point of the Camino de Santiago, where breathtaking vistas and a deep sense of history await. At the summit, we arrive in a charming Celtic hamlet, where we pause on a sun-drenched terrace to savor a well-earned empanada, paired with a refreshing kalimotxo, a beloved local blend of red wine and cola. Stroll through the village, admiring its ancient pallozas—traditional Galician stone houses—and visit the historic church, where the legacy of Elias Valiña, the visionary priest behind the Camino’s iconic yellow arrows, comes to life.
In the afternoon, we transfer to the Abbey of San Xulián de Samos, an active Benedictine monastery founded in the 6th century. Here, we embark on an immersive journey into its sacred halls, discovering centuries of spiritual devotion and architectural beauty. As the evening unfolds, we take part in the tranquil rhythm of Benedictine prayers before settling in for a rare and serene overnight stay within the Abbey’s ancient walls, nestled in the heart of the Galician mountains.

We traverse gentle hills, shaded by towering eucalyptus forests, savoring the serenity of the Camino’s final miles. At last, we arrive at Monte de Gozo, where pilgrims from all paths converge, sharing in the collective joy of nearing Santiago. A few steps farther, we pause at the Monument to the Pilgrim, where the first breathtaking view of Santiago de Compostela and its majestic cathedral unfolds—a deeply moving and unforgettable moment. The final stretch carries us into the heart of the city, where the sound of a lone bagpiper welcomes us into the grand Plaza de Obradoiro. Here, we walk the sacred steps of the cathedral, embracing the culmination of part one of our extraordinary journey.

As the day winds down, we settle into an 18th-century lighthouse perched on the rugged cliffs, offering an unparalleled view of the sun dipping into the ocean. Stroll through the charming fishing village of Finisterre, where time slows, and witness the daily life of the local fishermen as they bring in their fresh catch.

This is our last day of walking, which takes place along the coast where you can breathe in the fresh Atlantic air to the fishing village of Muxia. We visit the chapel of la Virgen de la Barca which is tucked away on the coastline, so close in fact that the ocean reaches its south wall when the tide is high. The afternoon is yours to enjoy seaside walks, the serenity and peaceful pleasures of life in a fishing village, staying in the four star Parador Hotel with views of the ocean, a ‘marisco’ fresh seafood meal and an inhouse spa.

Walking
You love to hike and are not afraid of a little sweat and some good uphills.
Our trip may include 12-15 km (7-10 miles) a day on various grades of terrain on a diversity of surfaces. Expect steeper climbs with phenomenal views and mountainscapes.
Biking
You love to bike at home regularly and can handle some sweat.
Our trip may include 40-60 km (25-40 miles) a day on rolling terrain with a few longer climbs rewarded with views and high points you will not want to miss.
Walking
You enjoy longer hikes with an incline or two and don’t mind pushing it a bit. Our trip may include around 6-12 km (4-8 miles) a day of walking on mostly flat terrain with a couple steeper but non-sustained climbs.
Biking
You ride your bike at home and are comfortable on a bike for a few hours. Our trip may include 40-60 km (25-40 miles) a day on mostly flat terrain and will include inclines and the occasional sustained climb.
Walking
You love to push yourself and can handle a longer hike with some sustained inclines and steep uphills. Our trip may include 10-15 km (6 -10 miles) on terrain that can be quite hilly and rolling with a few steeper climbs thrown in for good measure. The views will blow you away.
Biking
Test your mettle on off-the-beaten-paths that will stun and delight, along with legendary cycling routes in the north of Spain. You are an avid rider who loves to push themselves and enjoy the challenge of a big climb or sustained inclines. Our trip may include over 60-80 km (37 – 49 miles) a day in rolling hills with frequent climbs and even longer options available. You will be the master of your universe.
Walking
You like to go on walks at home but nothing that works up a sweat. Our trip may include around 5-10 km (3-6 miles) a day of walking on mostly flat terrain, with an occasional hill on well maintained trails or walkways.
Biking
You are in decent shape but don’t habitually ride a bike at home. Our trip may include 30-50 km (20-30 miles) a day on mostly flat terrain with a few small and achievable inclines.
