Rise and shine as we stride into morning mass to the Gregorian chants in the oldest monastery of Navarra. A private plane gives a bird’s eye view of the Monasterio de Leyre, the Castillo de Javier, and the Lumbier canyon. Enjoy the sensations of flying an ultralight plane with you and your pilot at the helm and the magnificence of Navarra and its diversity of landscapes down below. This afternoon, relax on the veranda of your signature hotel - one of the best preserved medieval in a region considered to be the cradle of king Fernando el catolico.

Cross the Hills of the Valdorba Valley

We head east to the heart of Navarre crossing the Valdorba Valley to discover how the Kingdom of Navarre was built through the Romanesque architecture. We visit a deep valley that takes us from the high Pyrenees to the lowlands offering a spectacular landscape embellished by ancient churches. A winding road upward takes us to the high standing Church-Fortress defending the eastern border the kingdom. Taste the region – this village is famous for its phenomenal mountain dish called Migas de Pastor (Shepherd’s crumbs) that is considered a regional delicacy. Our day concludes with a wine safari on the outskirts of majestic Olite and its wonderful fairy tale castle, a delightfully gothic experience.

Cross the fields and vineyards of the southern Navarra to the foothills of the Urbasa mountain range, where the medieval village of Estella – the city of merchants and the wealthy, and economic capital of the old Navarra Kingdom, that gleams with heritage and exquisite traditional foods. Our road trip continues over the Urbasa mountain range, surrounded by breathtaking rock cliffs, to the heart of Gipuzkoa to a city of Ordizia and its century-old market place tradition.

Get ready for a day of spirituality and reflection as we crusade on a singular three temple tour that mark three separate eras and three architectural styles. Discover the evolution of spirituality from the tenth to the twentieth century. This region is well-known for its apple cider and we are not missing a thing! After a cider experience, we travel back to the era of the first steam engine trains and cool down in the longest caves in the whole territory. Our day concludes in Oñati, a village with tradition and prestige and where the first university in the region was bore.

Soak up the city of Bilbao

We leave the rugged landscape behind us and travel into the gentle hills and dense forest of Bizkaia to visit one of the most emblematic enclaves of the territory, Durango. A fortified city with cobblestone streets and manor houses, where a more modern architecture and a few well preserved relics in memory of the bombings of the civil war. From Durango, we head west to the most cosmopolitan metropolis in the region, Bilbao. We walk over the 19th century suspension bridge and its emblematic museum, the Guggenheim of Bilbao offer us a perfect colophon for our journey.
