We begin with a meet and greet welcome, a chance to size up your bikes to fit and take you for a spin in the direction of the Navarra Pyrenees. Our cycling journey begins with a cooking demonstration in a private gastronomy club. First we learn how to make and then to enjoy.

Afternoon Pleasures: Navarra Cuisine Cooking demonstration
The snow capped Pyrénées can be seen from the highest point in altitude of this stage of the Camino. Cruise a slow descent to Roncesvalles monastery and the crypt where the king and queen of Navarra lay to rest. Its strategic location is laden with historical battles and legends with figures like Charlemagne, Wellington, and Napoleon. Cycle along the ever-widening river Arga, and cross the ancient gates of the city, El Portal de Francia and into the Pamplona citadel. The capital of Navarre is a jewel in the rough. Through the cobbled streets of the historic quarter, discover 2000 years of history and culture and find out why Hemingway was captured by its year-round festive street life atmosphere. Learn about the running of the bulls while we enjoy a culinary walking tour of the city of Pamplona to enjoy the lively old quarter and its delightful pintxos and wines.

Afternoon Pleasures: Culinary Evening in our private gastro – cultural club
We ride along low-lying woods, rolling hills and golden meadows. We cross one of the most iconic spots of the Camino, El Paso del Perdón, with views of both valleys – far from the Pyrenee landscapes of the day before. Shrines and cornerstones mark our way. We stop to take a photo on the emblematic bridge of Puente de la Reina. In Estella, the medieval village of the kingdom of Navarra, we cycle along its charming narrow streets, discovering its unique Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The afternoon includes a visit to one of the most exclusive wineries in Navarre, Bodegas Arinzano for an exclusive wine tasting among the vineyards.

Afternoon Pleasures: Exclusive winery visit and wine tasting and for the kids grape jucie ‘Mosto’
Along the Camino we stop on route to visit the Navarra winery Castillo de Monjardin for a private visit of the winery and enjoy their crianza and reserva wines whilst enjoy soaking up the views from their majestic palace into the row upon row of well attended grape vines and olive orchards. This section of the camino offers us easy riding along a broad pathway, picturesque landscape of vineyards and wheat fields from Villamayor to los Arcos to Torres del Río – the largest and most powerful Templar settlement in the region to Viana, the city of Kings and Princes where we stop to have typical Navarre asador lunch and then transfer to Logroño. In the afternoon, we visit an exquisite winery in Logroño. Take time to explore the hotel, or the town, or enjoy the lively old quarter of Logroño. We re-group for dinner to savour its famous pintxos and wines on la calle Laurel.

Our morning ride takes us through Logroño, famed for its rich gastronomy, wines and its unique past and heritage. We travel past the pretty vineyards of the region to make our way to Santo Domingo de la Calzada, hence completing the stage of our route in the Ebro valley. Take time to explore the hotel or the town or or join us on a historic visit of Santo Domingo de la Calzada; a small town with a huge history.

Afternoon Pleasures: Historic tour of Santo Domingo de la Calzada
Both the scenic countryside and the diversity of landscape make this section of the Camino great fun. Get ready for five star pathways in perfect conditions with flat sections out of Santo Domingo, jagged up hills into the Oca Mountains, vertiginous descents to San Juan de Ortega. We visit the World Heritage archaeological site of Atapuerca, where the caves contain a rich fossil record of the earliest human beings in Europe, from nearly one million years ago. Take time to explore the UNESCO Cathedral of Burgos. This evening, dine on your own – our guides can readily recommend a few favorite restaurants.

Afternoon Pleasures: Visit to UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site of Atapuerca
Along the Camino across the Castilian plateau, we will find many small villages with their centuries-old churches. We cycle in serenity along open clearings and wheat fields with the distant horizon inviting us forward. We cross the impressive Fitero bridge over the Pisuerga River crossing and we stop to admire the Spanish Romanesque architecture of San Martín in Fromista or the the ruins of the convent San Antón. No less impressive is our magnificent four star accommodation at the Hotel Monasterio de San Zoilo.

Afternoon Pleasures:Explore the active Benedictine Abbey
This last day of the Camino is easy riding on wide paths in the fields of Palencia that will take us straight to the beautiful city of León. We cycle along the route of the Roman Vía Aquitana that linked the towns of Burgos and Astorga. Welcome to the city of Leon, a labyrinth of streets where bars and inns are bountiful and is the ideal place to celebrate with a Ribera de Duero wine and tapas.

Walking
You love to hike and are not afraid of a little sweat and some good uphills.
Our trip may include 12-15 km (7-10 miles) a day on various grades of terrain on a diversity of surfaces. Expect steeper climbs with phenomenal views and mountainscapes.
Biking
You love to bike at home regularly and can handle some sweat.
Our trip may include 40-60 km (25-40 miles) a day on rolling terrain with a few longer climbs rewarded with views and high points you will not want to miss.
Walking
You enjoy longer hikes with an incline or two and don’t mind pushing it a bit. Our trip may include around 6-12 km (4-8 miles) a day of walking on mostly flat terrain with a couple steeper but non-sustained climbs.
Biking
You ride your bike at home and are comfortable on a bike for a few hours. Our trip may include 40-60 km (25-40 miles) a day on mostly flat terrain and will include inclines and the occasional sustained climb.
Walking
You love to push yourself and can handle a longer hike with some sustained inclines and steep uphills. Our trip may include 10-15 km (6 -10 miles) on terrain that can be quite hilly and rolling with a few steeper climbs thrown in for good measure. The views will blow you away.
Biking
Test your mettle on off-the-beaten-paths that will stun and delight, along with legendary cycling routes in the north of Spain. You are an avid rider who loves to push themselves and enjoy the challenge of a big climb or sustained inclines. Our trip may include over 60-80 km (37 – 49 miles) a day in rolling hills with frequent climbs and even longer options available. You will be the master of your universe.
Walking
You like to go on walks at home but nothing that works up a sweat. Our trip may include around 5-10 km (3-6 miles) a day of walking on mostly flat terrain, with an occasional hill on well maintained trails or walkways.
Biking
You are in decent shape but don’t habitually ride a bike at home. Our trip may include 30-50 km (20-30 miles) a day on mostly flat terrain with a few small and achievable inclines.
